Sirens

She’s fallen for one who worries her soul

When sirens come calling he could get pulled into their undertow

She sails on the crests over top of their bones

Hoping her song will guide him home

His silence is spilling into the sea

Her pleading is lost among her broken knees

Cold, spineless waves and empty beds

toss in the storm that is filled with the never-saids.

The siren song comes lilting in the night

She can’t hear their chords

as he drifts out of sight.
