On the way down

It has been awhile since this moonlit drive, parked car, soaking up the star light.
Sitting on the hood of my car, heart wide open, guts spilled to the man in the moon; finally accepting the finals and lasts, letting the sadness leak through.
The lonely moments of feeling alone can be let go here.
The sadness can disolve.
The moments I’ve dwelled on fear and sadness have drifted away in the moonlight.
Alone can be whole, imperfectly complete, every shard makes up the essence of me, where I throw myself head first. I’ve never been a girl to hesitate, never the kind of girl to let doubts get in the way, just jump and learn to fly on the way down.
